GRUPPO MASTROTTO AND VENETONIGHT FOR THE RESEARCH

Gruppo Mastrotto, always focused and sensitive to Research & Development implications, has taken part with its products to VENETONIGHT on the 28th of September. During this event researchers from various universities have interacted with the public throughout events, concerts, experiments, conferences, exhibitions, laboratories and guided tours. The Night of Researchers, promoted by the European Commission, has been organized by the universities of Padova, Venezia Ca’ Foscari, Iuav, Verona and Inaf, Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica, Unioncamere del Veneto.

Thanks to the collaboration between Gruppo Mastrotto and the Department of Molecular Sciences and Nano Systems of Ca’ Foscari, within the Senses Laboratory have been presented the hides produced by Gruppo Mastrotto, in order to offer the public the experience of “sensing” and “seeing” with the eyes of a researcher. The great variety presented has offered an interesting opportunity to appreciate the different characteristics of look and touch of the various leathers.

The laboratory turned out to be the ideal occasion to involve and draw the public closer to a technical product which has a high industrial content, and that requires a specific kind of performance to be applied in the footwear- and leather goods industry, as well as in the automotive- and upholstery industry. The multisensory experience within the expositive areas of Ca’ Foscari has drew the attention of about 8.000 visitors, thus witnessing the great success of this initiative and the great interest of the public for leather.
