ABSOLUTE, The Suede Revolution: suede leather enters the sustainable luxury market with Gruppo Mastrotto

The new article was presented in a sneak preview at Lineapelle Milan along with three new lines for the leather goods and footwear sectors: Clary, Power, and Power Metal Free.

We have chosen Lineapelle, the exhibition taking place in Rho Fiera, Milan, from September 19 to 21, to offer a preview of the result of OUR commitment to innovation and sustainability, which it has always considered drivers of our business development.

The combination of these two elements gave birth to ABSOLUTE – The Suede Revolution: an exclusive, elegant, and refined product. This line – directed to high-end footwear – was specifically designed to distinguish itself from suede leather fabric on the market, offering an appealing and intriguing experience at first touch.

ABSOLUTE – The Suede Revolution integrates recovered tannery shavings – waste products occurring throughout leather processing – into the production process. We extract and process an organic polymer from the waste product to give it a new value. This perfect example of circular economy gives life to a fabric with exclusive features: saturated and strong colors and a soft, wholesome, silky feel.

ABSOLUTE – The Suede Revolution thus changes the suede leather paradigm, providing the luxury footwear sector with a highly eco-friendly material that can dignify a waste product according to an upcycling philosophy and with a 95% renewability rate (as per the USDA-United States Department of Agriculture certification). A product without compromise, available in 12 colors of unique intensity and sharpness that give the leather a special chromatic depth. The options vary from more classic and refined hues to bolder and more contemporary colors, allowing stylists and designers to make the best of their creativity.

The cornerstone of ABSOLUTE – The Suede Revolution is, above all, the choice of top-quality European raw materials. The accurate selection makes it an elite product dedicated to the luxury world. The resulting leather hides are mesmerizing and provide an enveloping comfort, raising the bar of tactile experience.

That’s not all in terms of the new products we will present at the exhibition. Gruppo Mastrotto Express, the greatest logistics hub in the world for off-the-shelf leather hides, presents three new collections for companies and designers: Clary, a fancy and semi-glossy lining with a Napa leather look, available in 13 colors for footwear and leather goods; Power and Power Metal Free linings with a high technical performance, a matte look, and a high wear resistance, designed for the footwear industry and available in 6 colors.

All three of the new lines are antibacterial and antiviral thanks to the innovative and patented permanent treatment that eliminates up to 99.9% of viruses and bacteria from leather surfaces. Moreover, they are Carbon Neutral in terms of Scope 1 and 2 emissions (like all the off-the-shelf Gruppo Mastrotto Express products), up to 75% renewable, and manufactured according to an LWG Gold Rated process with up to an 85% traceability.

To wrap up the good news, our new Fall/Winter 24-25 Collection includes the elegant and timeless Core products and the creative and glamorous Blending products. Nuances of the new season range from Mystery – a brown color with hints of pink – to Dharby Red, to Pearl Gray and Escape Blue.
