Gruppo Mastrotto donates a new vehicle for the transport of people with disabilities to the Croce Rossa Italiana – Vicenza Committee, in memory of Mr Bruno

On Thursday 25 June, at the headquarters of the Croce Rossa Italiana – Vicenza Committee – OdV, in Contrà dei Torretti 9, we attended the inauguration ceremony of a new vehicle equipped for the transport of people with motor disabilities, donated by us.

This represents a gesture of great importance for the local area and for the most vulnerable members of the community, enabling the Croce Rossa Italiana – Vicenza Committee to further strengthen its social transport and accompaniment services for elderly citizens, people with disabilities and individuals facing particularly difficult circumstances.

This vehicle also holds deep symbolic value for us. It was used by Mr Bruno during his illness, accompanying him in moments of comfort and relief. Today, it continues its role in the service of the community, keeping his memory alive through a tangible act of care for those most in need.

Social transport activities are among the services carried out daily by the Croce Rossa Italiana. Every day, individuals who are unable to travel independently are accompanied to medical appointments, treatments, hospital admissions and discharges, as well as other healthcare needs. Demand for this service is continuously increasing, also due to an ageing population and the growing number of people living alone without family support.

The availability of a new vehicle equipped for wheelchair transport will make it possible to respond even more effectively to the needs of the local area, improving access to healthcare services and providing concrete support to the most vulnerable individuals.

Attending the inauguration were Santo Mastrotto, founder of Gruppo Mastrotto together with his brother Bruno, and Giovanna Mastrotto, Board Member, alongside Elisa Tinello, Regional President of the Croce Rossa Italiana, Leonida Bicego, President of the Vicenza Committee, Anna Luisa Valente, Vice-President, and Sister Angela Lo Brutto, Inspector of the Red Cross Volunteer Nurses.

“With this donation, we aim to provide tangible support to the community by assisting the Croce Rossa Italiana of Vicenza in delivering an essential service to people with mobility difficulties. This gesture stems from our strong connection to the local area and our commitment to promoting inclusion and accessibility through concrete actions,” said Giovanna Mastrotto, Board Member of Gruppo Mastrotto.

The Croce Rossa Italiana – Vicenza Committee expressed its sincere gratitude towards us for the sensitivity shown and for the tangible contribution made to the benefit of the community.
