The President of the Italian Republic awards the title of “Maestro del Lavoro” to the Head of Furniture Production of our company, a global leader in the tanning industry

Yesterday, 12 December, at the prestigious Malibran Theatre in Venice, a ceremony was held to present the Stella al Merito del Lavoro award to Tiziano Posenato, Production Manager of our Group’s Furniture Business Unit. The award, conferred by Decree by the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella, assigns the title of “Maestro del Lavoro” (Master of Labour) to a person who has distinguished himself for skill, industriousness and impeccable moral conduct in over 40 years of professional collaboration with our company.

Tiziano Posenato entered the working world while still a teenager. In 1978, having completed his secondary education at the age of 14, he began his long career at Conceria Fratelli Mastrotto. In 1990, Tiziano became head of the fulling and drying department, moving on to the wet blue department the following year. In 2004, Tiziano’s professionalism and commitment led to his appointment as Production Manager of the Furniture Business Unit, at the age of just 40, with direct responsibility for the production sites in Italy and Croatia. Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in bringing important innovations to the company, such as a new system for the overhead loading of barrels, a solution that has significantly reduced the risk of accidents in the workplace. Our Group was the first company in the industry to implement this new operating method.

“I have been asking myself over the past few days whether I deserve to receive this important award”– says Tiziano Posenato – “The answer I have given myself is that I have been lucky, because I met people who let me make mistakes, who trusted me, who have always respected and supported me, and with whom I have always been able to engage in constructive exchanges. All this has definitely influenced my professional career and enabled me to come this far, to achieve an honour of which I am extremely proud”.

The Federazione Nazionale Maestri del Lavoro is a non-profit association that works to promote the culture of work, study, safety and voluntary work and is committed to protecting the human, civil, social and political rights of employees. The honour is awarded to those who have reached the age of 50, have worked continuously for at least 25 years for one or more companies and have distinguished themselves for at least one of the following merits: expertise, industriousness or good moral conduct; for having having improved the efficiency of tools, machines and working methods with inventions or innovations in the technical and productive field; for having contributed in an original way to the improvement of safety measures at work or who have done their utmost to educate and prepare new generations in the professional activity.

“During his long career with the company, Tiziano Posenato has acquired a profound knowledge of raw materials and processing” – says Graziano Mastrotto – “skills that have enabled him to direct the production process in the best possible way. He has succeeded in handling fatigue with a smile, becoming a respected and recognised leader, a true example of resilience, perseverance and humility. Moreover, he has never boasted about his outstanding expertise but has always shared it with his colleagues, to solve problems and contribute to ongoing improvement, which is why we can only express our satisfaction with this prestigious acknowledgement. The Stella al Merito del Lavoro fully reflects the commitment and dedication displayed by Tiziano over the years.
