Gruppo Mastrotto produces cow hides and calf skins
for footwear, upholstery, leather goods, automotive and garments.
We have many and different types of leather and production process,
in order to respond to the market’s demands.
The main categories are:
Grain (the top layer of the leather, opposed to the .esh side) which
is divided in:
Full grain (leather which has not been treated at all – the
“.ore” is still visible and uncovered and is completely
.nished with aniline).
Corrected grain (leather from which the grain layer has been partially
removed by buf.ng and upon whose a new surface has been built by various
.nishes);
Nubuck (leather buffed on the grain side to give a velvety surface);
Split (product obtained from the inferior layer of leather by splitting
it) which is divided in:
- Suede (leather whose surface has been .nished to give it a velvety
effect);
- Pigmented split (leather .nished with pigment);
- PU Split MASPEL(tm) or Bay Cast (leather with a thin polyurethane .lm (PU), entirely
.nished with water);
- Finished split (.nished leather which contains a little quantity of
pigment and aniline).
