On Monday, November 26, Gruppo Mastrotto opened its doors to the Politecnico Calzaturiero SCARL of Vigonza (PD), an institute founded in 2001 to familiarize and train young people for work in the shoe business. The school promotes professional specialization, production quality and innovation, and job safety. It also provides support for research initiatives and technological system and processes transfer throughout the Veneto and Italy. Twenty-five students completing an IFTS post-diploma course in Industrial Planning and Design at the high school took part in the visit to the company. As one in a series of visits to companies involved in shoe production, the outing to Gruppo Mastrotto provided an excellent opportunity to further the students' educational experience and help them better understand the materials and technology utilized in the field. Chiara Mastrotto, head of the Leather Goods Division for Gruppo Mastrotto, hosted the students, warmly welcoming them and introducing them to the company's mission and values: quality, dependability, service, client partnership, and staying abreast of market developments and fashion-world trends. In order to expose the students to the inner-workings of the company, the visit continued with a detailed presentation of leather tanning and refinishing, and culminated in a guided tour of the factory. The morning concluded with a visit to the Gruppo Mastrotto Laboratories. The students enjoyed a presentation on the company's research and development activities which highlighted the Gruppo Mastrotto commitment to continued product improvement and reduction of the company's environmental impact.
