Respect for the Environment: A Company Priority

To be an international player in the tanning sector means being responsible for customers as well as employees and the area in general. Over the years, the Gruppo Mastrotto management has continued to invest in adopting solutions that reduce the environmental impact of leather production processes, promoting concrete initiatives with its partners and its staff.
This policy has led to the implementation of water-based refining processes, to the construction of a purification plant and the reduction of CO2 emissions thanks to a co-generation plant with a capacity of 1,000 kW – equal to the power for more than 300 apartments – creating a combined and simultaneous production of electricity and thermal energy. Attention to the health of the work environment is also shown by the design and construction of a fully electric industrial loader – the first in the world – to transport leather, now present at all the Group’s production plants.
Respect for the environment is considered in a broader context that involves company management as a whole. The efficient use of resources and the application of the best technologies lets us control performance and constantly optimise procedures and standards, offering a concrete response to the Group’s quality challenge.

As witness to the concrete commitment applied every day to its leather tanning work, the Gruppo Mastrotto has also obtained UNI EN ISO 9001 Quality Certification as well as Environmental Certification based on the UNI EN ISO 14001 standard qualifications.
